NWS in Jackson put out a quick update. They are concerned for additional severe weahther threat and more heavy rain . Temperatures over eastern MS are rising into the mid 80s with some breaks in the clouds. this should help fuel an increase and intensity of storms over the next few hours.

...A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM CDT FOR SOUTHEASTERN KEMPER COUNTY...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS CONTINUE TO TRACK A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR PORTERVILLE MOVING NORTH AT 35 MPH.

NWS New Orleans: Flood warning continues for the Tchefuncte River near Folsom. Major flooding is forecast.
* AT 1:00 PM THURSDAY THE STAGE WAS 17.9 FEET.
* FLOOD STAGE IS 16.0 FEET.
* FORECAST...THE RIVER WILL CONTINUE RISING TO NEAR 21.5 FEET BY EARLY MORNING ON AUGUST 31ST. THE RIVER WILL FALL BELOW FLOOD STAGE ON SATURDAY MORNING.
* IMPACT...AT 21.5 FEET...STRONG RIVER CURRENT CARRYING DEBRIS WILL THREATEN DAMAGE TO THE BRIDGE STRUCTURE. THERE WILL BE WATER IN HOMES NEAR SAVANNAH BRANCH. EVACUATION WILL BE REQUIRED NEAR BENNET BRIDGE ROAD. THERE WILL BE WATER OVER LOW LYING STRETCHES OF LOUISIANA HIGHWAY 1077 DOWNSTREAM OF THE HIGHWAY 40 BRIDGE. EVACUATION OF THE AREA AROUND SPRING PARK AND ALBERT THOMPSON ROADS SHOULD BE COMPLETE.
* IMPACT...AT 21.0 FEET...THERE WILL BE WATER IN HOMES NEAR SAVANNAH BRANCH. EVACUATION WILL BE REQUIRED NEAR BENNET BRIDGE ROAD.
