Super Tuesday in Texas - Live Blog
Texas has the most delegates at stake in the March 1st Super Tuesday primary. It’s part of the process to select presidential candidates for both the Republican and Democrat parties. This blog is part of the Texas Station Collaborative, a new joint project of KERA in North Texas, Houston Public Media, KUT in Austin and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio.

KERA’s Stella Chavez has been talking with voters all day today in North Texas. That includes a husband and wife who chose presidential candidates on the opposite ends of the political spectrum.
Jeff Chapman is voting for Republican Donald Trump. Janet Chapman is voting for Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Jeff doesn’t agree with how Trump has handled his campaign. Instead, he’s voting for the businessman for a different reason: “It’s more of a referendum of the last eight years in Congress of doing nothing, so at least I would like to have the discussion of changing the mood of Congress and getting things done.”
Janet says her husband’s vote doesn’t bother her.
“Sometimes we don’t have the same views – I personally would not have voted for Trump – but I understand why he did it, so I have to give him credit there.”
If it comes down to a Clinton-Trump matchup this fall, Janet thinks Clinton will win. -

Ted Cruz is saying some presidential candidates should drop out after tonight's votes are counted. The Texas Tribune reports: "For any candidate that wakes up tomorrow morning who has not won any state, for any candidate who wakes up tomorrow morning who has a negligible number of delegates, I think it's time to start thinking about coming together and unifying and presenting a clear choice," Cruz told reporters.

Many Texans are voting today in the Super Tuesday primary.
The rich delegate count is expected to have a major impact on the presidential nominee for Republicans and Democrats.
GOP Senator Ted Cruz needs to win his home state of Texas -- and some neighboring states -- to keep his bid for the White House alive. That's according to University of Houston Professor Richard Murray. -
