Super Tuesday in Texas - Live Blog
Texas has the most delegates at stake in the March 1st Super Tuesday primary. It’s part of the process to select presidential candidates for both the Republican and Democrat parties. This blog is part of the Texas Station Collaborative, a new joint project of KERA in North Texas, Houston Public Media, KUT in Austin and Texas Public Radio in San Antonio.

Ted Cruz is speaking to his supporters right now in Stafford. He is urging other Republican presidential candidates to drop out and “prayerfully consider coming together.”
“Tonight this campaign enters a new phase. We began with 17 Republican candidates. Through the first four states, the race narrowed considerably. Tonight was another decision point and the voters have spoken,” Cruz said.
“Tomorrow morning we have a choice," Cruz told the crowd. "So as long as the field remains divided, Donald Trump’s path to the nomination remains more likely and that would be a disaster for Republicans, for conservatives and for the nation. And after tonight we have seen that our campaign is the only campaign that has beaten that can beat and that will beat Donald Trump. … We are the only campaign that has beaten Donald Trump once, twice, three times.” -
